Prof.Guobin Fan

Chinese Academy of Engineering, China

Fan Guobin is a member of the Expert Committee of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics, a researcher, leader of the National High-tech Major Task Expert Group, chief designer of the High energy laser system, doctoral supervisor, Executive director of the Optical Society of China, and Vice chairman of the Optical Engineering Society of China. He has been dedicated to high energy laser technology research for an extended period and is recognized as one of the leaders in this field in China. He is responsible for conducting research and managing several national themes and major scientific research topics. His work has resulted in numerous international leading innovations across various fields and has significantly contributed to advancing China's national defense high technology. Additionally, he has published over 40 papers in core journals both domestically and internationally. Furthermore, he has received 2 first prizes for National Science and Technology progress, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, 4 first prizes from the army, as well as 15 nationally authorized invention patents. Fan Guobin has also been honored with awards such as the "Qiushi" Outstanding engineering Award from The China Association for Science and Technology;the "Outstanding contribution" award from The National 863 program;the "High-tech equipment construction major contribution Award";the "Zhou Guangzhao Technology Innovation Award", among others. He enjoys special government subsidies from The State Council and was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2017."

Professor Su is a doctoral supervisor of School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology., winner of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, top-notch young talents of the National " Ten Thousand Talents Plan, " Deputy Director of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education of Autonomous Intelligent Unmanned Systems. 

He won the second prize of national natural science, the first prize of natural science of the Ministry of Education, the first prize of natural science of Hubei Province, and the first prize of Guangdong Province Technology Invention Award. He presided over six National Natural Science Foundations, served as a talent project review expert of the Ministry of Science and Technology, a review expert of the Department of Information Science of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a communication review expert of the RGC project in Hong Kong. More than 200 papers were published in SCI journals, including more than 30 ESI highly cited papers and more than 100 IEEE papers. Prof.Qi Huang

Professor Huang currently serves as the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Southwest University of Science and Technology. He has dedicated his career to researching wide-area measurement and control of power systems, analysis and control of large power grids, intelligent energy information support technology, grid-connected consumption of large-scale multi-renewable energy systems, and tunnel transmission. Professor Huang has led more than 20 national and provincial projects, including those under the national key research and development plan and National Natural Science Foundation.

His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including 1 first prize from the China Instrument Society, 1 second prize from the Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award, and 1 second prize for Excellent Scientific and Technological Achievements from the Ministry of Education. Additionally, he has authored over 300 academic papers (including more than 160 SCI papers), co-authored 2 Wiley-IEEE monographs, obtained more than 100 patents (with over 60 authorized national invention patents), as well as secured a United States patent.

Prof. Zhiqin Zhao

Zhao Zhiqin, member of Phi Kappa Phi, editorial board member of Journal of Electronics, director of Sichuan Electronics Society and deputy director of Antenna and Microwave Professional Committee. In 2006, he won the "New Century Outstanding Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education", and was selected into the 2008 Sichuan Province Outstanding Young Academic Leader Training funding Program. In 2009, he was awarded the title of Outstanding Expert with Outstanding contributions in Chengdu. 

He has published more than 200 papers in IEEE Trans. on GRS, AP, BME, SIAM, JCP and other important journals and conferences at home and abroad, including more than 90 papers indexed by SCI.

Professor Li is a Sichuan 's leading talent, the world 's highly cited scientists. Prof. Yu was selected as the Yangtze River scholar of the Ministry of Education, the young Yangtze River, the top young talents of the national " ten thousand people plan, " the winner of the national outstanding youth science fund, and the chief scientist of the key R & D project of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Prof. Simon X. Yang

Prof. Simon X. Yang received the B.Sc. degree in engineering physics from Beijing University, China in 1987, the first of two M.Sc.  degrees in biophysics from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China in 1990, the second M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston, USA in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada in 1999. Prof. Yang joined the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph, Canada in 1999. Currently he is a Professor and the Head of the Advanced Robotics & Intelligent Systems (ARIS) Laboratory at the University of Guelph in Canada.  Prof. Yang has diversified research expertise. His research interests include intelligent systems, robotics, control systems, sensors and multi-sensor fusion, wireless sensor networks, intelligent communications, intelligent transportation, machine learning, and computational neuroscience. He has published over 550 academic papers, including over 350 journal papers. Prof. Yang he has been very active in professional activities. Prof. Yang has served as the Editor-in-Chief of Intelligence & Robotics, and some other journals; and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, and several other journals. He has been involved in the organization of many international conferences.

Prof. Hongyi Li

Southwest University, China


Prof. Li is anational talents, national natural science fund key projects and outstanding young science fund project winners, the ministry of education in the new century talents. In 2012, he graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a doctorate in intelligent control. He has been a visiting scholar at Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Wollongong University in Australia.He is mainly engaged in the research of intelligent control, cooperative control and its application of complex dynamic systems.

Prof. Li presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China key projects, outstanding youth science foundation and other projects. He has won four first-class and second-class prizes in provincial and ministerial natural science, four best paper awards in international conferences, five excellent master 's thesis instructors at the provincial level, and IEEE TNNLS, IEEE / CAA JAS, JSSC. Prof. Xinsong Yang

Sichuan University, China


Prof. Yang is the project evaluation expert of Chengdu Science and Technology Association was selected as a highly cited scholar of KRUI Safety Ball and Elsevier China for four consecutive years from 2019 to 2022.His main research direction is swarm intelligence and control, UAV group air-ground cooperative scheduling. He was awarded the outstanding reviewer of J. Franklin Instit.in SCI magazine in 2019 and the outstanding reviewer of IEEE Trans.Network Sci.Engineering and TNNLS in 2022, respectively.He is the editor of Engineering Science and Technology, Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Mathematical Modelling and Control, SCI Journal Neurocomputing, Neural Processing Letters, Mathematics ( AE ).

Publication Chairs

Prof. Xingwen Liu

Southwest Minzu University, China


Prof. Liu research direction is control theory and control engineering, including complex systems, multi-agent systems, intelligent control, robust control and game theory. More than 60 papers have been published in journals and conferences such as IEEE TAC and Automatica. The necessary and sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of positive systems with time delay and the exponential stability of nonlinear cascade switched systems with time delay are established.

He presided over four projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He was selected into the ' New Century Talent Support Plan of the Ministry of Education ', the outstanding contribution experts of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the ' Leading Talent Plan ', and the ' Funding Plan for Outstanding Young Academic and Technical Leaders in Sichuan Province ', and was the leader of the innovation team of Sichuan Province and the innovation team of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.

He is an associate editor of Mathematical Modelling & Control, a foreign reviewer of the Natural Science Foundation of Poland and Iceland, and a reviewer of the National Science and Technology Award. He was awarded the 2019 Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker Award of the Chinese Simulation Society and the 2018 Outstanding Reviewer Award of the famous control journal IET Control Theory & Applications.

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore


Prof. Chau Yuen (S02-M06-SM12-F21) received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with Lucent Technologies Bell Labs, Murray Hill, in 2005, and a Visiting Assistant Professor with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2008. From 2006 to 2010, he was with the Institute for Infocomm Research, Singapore. From 2010 to 2023, he was with the Engineering Product Development Pillar, Singapore University of Technology and Design. Since 2023, he has been with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University.He is a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University, and also a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Web of Science. He has 3 US patents and published over 500 research papers at international journals or conferences.

He received IEEE Communications Society Fred W. Ellersick Prize (2023), IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award in Wireless Communications (2021), and EURASIP Best Paper Award for JOURNAL ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKING (2021). He was a recipient of the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal, the Institution of Electrical Engineers Book Prize, the Institute of Engineering of Singapore Gold Medal, the Merck Sharp and Dohme Gold Medal, and twice a recipient of the Hewlett Packard Prize. He received the IEEE Asia Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2012 and IEEE VTS Singapore Chapter Outstanding Service Award on 2019.

Prof. Guoxiang Gu

Louisiana State University, USA


Prof. Gu (F'10) received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA, in 1988. From 1988 to 1990, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Wright State University, Dayton, OH, USA, as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He has held visiting positions with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH, USA, and with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong. Since 1990, he joined Louisiana State University (LSU), Baton Rouge, LA, USA, where he is currently a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has authored two books, over 80 archive journal papers, and numerous book chapters and conference papers. His research interests include networked feedback control, system identification, and statistical signal processing.

Dr. Gu served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control from January 1998 to December 2001 and from January 2018 to December 2021, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization from 2006 to 2009, and Automatica from 2006 to 2012. He is currently the F. Hugh Coughlin/CLECO Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering at LSU.

Liu Duo, Professor, doctoral supervisor, "Hongshen Outstanding Scholar" of Chongqing University. He was selected as one of the winners of the National Young Talents Program, the winner of Chongqing Outstanding Youth Fund, and the Top Young Talents of Chongqing Talent Program (the first batch). He received his PhD from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2012. Ling Qiang received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Automation of the University of Science and Technology of China in 1997, his master's degree from the Department of Automation of Tsinghua University in 2000, and his doctorate degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Notre Dame in 2005.

Current research interests include networked control systems (focusing on feedback packet loss and quantization), image processing, etc. He has published 1 monograph, more than 100 papers, more than 30 authorized invention patents and 4 authorized United States patents. He has won the titles of Overseas High-level Talents of Anhui Province, Lu Jiaxi Young Talents Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and New Century Outstanding Talents of the Ministry of Education.

Prof. Gexiang Zhang

Prof. Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in 2005 from Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China. Now he is a full professor and the Dean of School of Automation, Chengdu University of Information Technology, Chengdu, China. He was a visiting professor in Department of Computer Science, The University of Sheffield, UK, a senior visiting professor at the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, and a visiting professor in Department of Chemistry, New York University, USA.

He is the President of International Membrane Computing Society (IMCS), an editorial board member of Axioms and International Journal of Parallel, Emergent and Distributed Systems. He is the co-winner of Grigore Moisil Prize of the Romanian Academy in 2019. He is listed in World’s Top 2% Scientists and in Highly Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier. Research areas include artificial intelligence, Intelligent robots, smart grid and intelligent control. He is the author/co-author of more than 200 publications, three monographs, and (lead) guest editor/co-editor of more than 10 volumes/proceedings.

Yaping Sun, lecturer, assistant researcher of Sichuan University, and member of the ' Swarm Intelligence and Control ' laboratory. She is a member of the Youth Work Committee of China Association of Automation, a member of the Professional Committee of Modeling and Simulation of Intelligent Internet of Things System, an excellent demonstration student of teacher training in Sichuan University, a winner of the " three letters " scholarship of Sichuan University, and an editor of SCI journal Neural Processing Letters ( AE ).

Assoc. Prof. Jianwen Huo

Assoc. Prof. Huo is devoted to the research of intelligent planning and cooperative control technology of multi-UAV systems, and solves the problems of distributed motion planning, cooperative control and formation optimization of multi-UAV / unmanned vehicle / robot and other unmanned systems.

Assoc. Researcher Xingxing Ju

Assoc. Researcher Ju research direction is optimization theory, algorithm and application, which mainly involves neurodynamic optimization and neural circuit ( analog circuit and FPGA implementation ), swarm intelligence and distributed game and UAV application. 

He received honors such as Chongqing 's outstanding doctoral dissertation and Chongqing 's outstanding graduates.
